Story + Witness = Healing

Gina Frank (She/Her)
Gina Frank (She/Her) is a Mental Health Professional based in Squamish, BC
I am a registered Social Worker (RSW) in BC. I completed my Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work in 2006 (Barry University), and for the majority of my career I have been employed as a High School Counsellor (Substance Use and Mental Health). In 2015 I completed the Post Graduate Trauma-Informed Clinical Foundation Certificate (University at Buffalo) and in 2020, I completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Creative & Expressive Art Therapy (Northwest Creative & Expressive Arts Institute of Seattle) and have since begun incorporating the arts into my practice. I also have experience working as an Education Assistant (EA) in Squamish Schools and assisting with IEP plans to support student learning.
My practice is focused on using Creative and Expressive Arts blended with traditional talk therapy to help young people work through various opportunities to heal and grow. Art Based Approaches include : Writing, Poetry, Painting, Dance/Movement, Drama, Music and Play. My approach is Strength Based, Client-Centered and grounded in Evidenced Based Practice. Over the past 15 years working in a High School setting I have learned that young minds can flourish when the therapeutic alliance is made stronger with the use of a creative and expressive outlet. In addition, I offer nature based counselling where Art Based Therapies can be experienced outdoors.
I offer both in person & online counselling.
